Paleo Meal Plan 3/30

Yes it's been a while since I posted a meal plan and our eating well has suffered for it.  We have kind of been winging it since my shoulder surgery.  I promised Michael I would plan meals for the week and he offered to do the grocery shopping. Monday - Coq au Vin with sauteed spinach and roasted acorn squash (recipe from Make Ahead Paleo) Tuesday - Salisbury Steak with green beans and mashed cauliflower Wednesday - Pulled pork with sauteed kale and sweet potato fries (place pork butt in slow cooker and cover with BBQ sauce-cook on low for 10 hours.  We use Tessamae's BBQ sauce) Thursday - … [Continue reading...]

6 Weeks

It's been six weeks now since I had my supraspinatus reattached to the bone and a bone spur removed in my left shoulder and seriously enough is enough. I want my life back! I am going to physical therapy three days a week to regain range of motion and it is going so slowly. My range is very limited. I continue to do exercises on my own and as of last week the physical therapist assists in several range of motion stretches. On the 100th day of school Jillian had an assignment to write a story using the following prompt:  If I live to be 100 years old I will . . . Her story makes me smile but she said it's not a story, it's just what her life will be like when she's 100. If I live to be 100 years old I will be happy that I live to be 100 years old! Rehabbing my Shoulder Day 1

I had my first physical therapy appointment today and I was sooooo nervous!!  When I got there the physical therapist first explained to me what I had done to my shoulder-a subacromial decrompression.  My supraspinatus was torn 50% and reattached to the bone with three anchors, hooked part of my acromion removed and inflammation cleaned out.
