We are in the process of redoing the girls’ room. New furniture, new quilts, and new wall art.
There was one wall with a huge empty spot that needed a piece of art but we didn’t want to spend a lot of money since we still have some accessories to buy for the room. I have seen butterfly art similar to this around the web so I decided to give it shot.
I am thrilled with how it turned out!
To make it I started with a 24″x36″ white canvas and spray painted it a gorgeous deep pink. Then I used my Cameo to cut out butterflies in several different sizes in three different shades of pink. I chose a three dimensional butterfly shape for the cutouts.
After the butterflies were all cut out I laid them out on the canvas to figure out the placement. My final step was to add some liquid glue to the back of the butterflies to adhere them to the canvas. I used a Martha Stewart glue.
I let the glue dry overnight and then added a saw tooth bracket to the back to hang it on the wall.
My girls love it and it looks so pretty in their room!
Sharing at these fabulous parties!

OMG, Shirley! That is absolutely gorgeous! If only I had a Cameo….
Thanks Leigh!
I was so worried that it wasn’t going to come out right but I am loving the end result.
This is so pretty!! I would love to have it in my room! Do you know if there is a template that we can have? I’ve looked at other outlines, but I like yours the best!
Hi Sierra! I used this shape and cut it out with my silhouette cameo:

I omitted the heart from the cutout though. Hopefully this helps!
It helps a ton! Thank you so much!
I love this! I have butterflies in my daughter’s room too. I would love it if you would stop by and share at my Monday link party.

Before I cut it out though with my silhouette cameo I removed the little heart. And now I am noticing that I actually adhered the wrong part of the butterfly to the canvas! LOl Oh well I still love it
